I turned 42 on the weekend, and took myself and my family down to the coast to spend it surrounded by eucalypts and koalas and currawongs and fairy wrens. And rain. It rained a lot. We attempted a beach walk every day, and every day we got drenched.
Work-wise, I’m in a very liminal period. A HUNGER OF THORNS releases in a week. The follow-up (not a sequel, but set in the same world), DEEP IS THE FEN1 is in copyedits, and I’m putting together a proposal for what might come next after that. It means I have nothing really solid to sink my teeth into, which is probably good because I’m very distracted by constant internal chatter of omgThornsisoutnextweekomgomg.
Anyway, this isn’t going to be the most scintillating newsletter ever, but it is going to set where I’m going to be over the next month or so, in case you would like to be there, too.
