It’s out! Finally out in the world! My mentions are full of lovely reviews and pictures and comments. I celebrated with family and friends at the Melbourne launch at Readings, chatted to one of my absolute childhood faves Garth Nix about it for the US crowd, and Banjo and I are jetting off to Sydney this weekend for a third (!!) launch event.
Publishing is weird (for so many reasons). Everyone’s making a fuss about A Hunger of Thorns right now. But (even though I’m delighted) my head is elsewhere. I’m wrapping up on copyedits for Deep is the Fen (just wait until you see the cover), and have just put together a proposal for what I hope will be the next book after that. And it’s that currently untitled, still quite nebulous book idea - that’s the one I’m excited about. But I can’t talk about it yet, because who even knows if it will happen? Publishing is weird.
Anyway, I’m sorry these newsletters are so newsy, and not so crafty. I promise the next one will have more writing stuff in it!

SYDNEY LAUNCH
I’ll be in conversation with Will Kostakis this Saturday 29th April, 11am at Kinokuniya. You should absolutely come because:
a) There are few things I enjoy more than talking shit with Will. We will have to censor ourselves because usually our chats are scandalously gossip-laden.
b) Turnouts at book events are pretty low still because of covid, and I’m low-key worried nobody will turn up, and I’m bringing my kid and I need him to know that Mama is, like, super famous?
c) I have giveaways! Art prints and stickers and bookmarks, oh my!
